The Junior Officials & Junior Scorekeepers program has been developed to equip the youth (ages 14-18) of Fayetteville and Cumberland County with essential tools to better prepare them for employment. The program includes training and education in both technical application as well as life skills. Upon completion of this program, participants will be provided the opportunity of on the job training while working in FCPR sports programs. Those successfully completing the Spring Session will be given advance consideration for hire for the summer/ Fall Sports Season.

Each junior official is required to purchase the officials uniform and equipment. Costs vary by sport and are subject to change. Staff can assist you with information to purchase the uniform/equipment. Additionally, there are strict attendance requirements for this program. Please read carefully. 

This program will consist of 6 classes. Participants will learn Life Skills such as conflict resolution, team building, and effective communication. Participants will also learn the rules, mechanics and techniques to referee their sport. Orientation - Meet & Greet Session
•Introduction of staff and discussion of visions and goals.
o Tuesday, October 20, 2015; 6 pm, City Hall, Council Chambers, 433 Hay Street

Level 100 - Life Skills (Candidates must attend 2 out of 3 sessions)
• Sessions include active participation lessons in conflict resolution, communication, problem solving & much more!
• Sessions scheduled:
o Tuesday, October 20, 6:30pm-7:30pm, HRD Training Room, City Hall,
presented by City of Fayetteville Human Resource & Development Department
o Saturday, October 24, 9 am-11am, Kiwanis Recreation Center,
presented by Cumberland County Human Resource Department
o Tuesday, October 27, 6pm-7pm, Westover Recreation Center,
presented by Chick-fil- A

Level 200 - Rules (Candidates must attend both sessions)
• Wednesday, November 4, 6 pm-8 pm, Kiwanis Recreation Center
• Thursday, November 12, 6pm-8pm, Kiwanis Recreation Center

Level 300 - Live Game Application (Candidates must work entire scrimmage)
• Monday, December 14 - 6pm-8pm, Westover Recreation Center
• Tuesday, December 15 - 6 pm- 8pm, Cliffdale Recreation Center
• Monday, December 21 - 6pm-8pm, Westover Recreation Center
• Tuesday, December 22 - 6 pm- 8pm, Cliffdale Recreation Center
